Where is the Horizons Outdoor Learning Center?

The Horizons Outdoor Learning Center is located in the beautiful, historical Shenandoah Valley on 300 acres at the foot of the Massanutten Mountain range. It is 15 minutes north of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and just two hours southwest of Washington, DC.

What is the schedule like?

We are open for check-in on Tuesday morning. Once that is done, we kick off the activities that same afternoon. Each day consists of workshops, activities, and meals. If you wish to see a past schedule, you can request one by emailing sga@horizonsva.com.

What do we need to be prepared for the activities and workshops?

Most of the equipment needed for the program is provided. However, there are specific items you will be required to bring along such as laptop or appropriate clothing...please check out our What To Bring List to make sure you are fully prepared!

Is lunch provided on the first day?

Lunch is not provided on the day of arrival. Please plan accordingly prior to coming to the Outdoor Learning Center.

What are the cabins like?

All of our cabins have bunk beds, bathrooms and electricity. Most cabins have ceiling fans.
